Mike and I attended the same grade school all 8 years, and were classmates several times over the years, but we were not really friends back then because we lived sort of far from each other. In other words, too far to walk as a little kid. We were the only ones from our 8th grade class to go to Lane, so at Lane we became best of friends. We were in the same Division all 4 years, and since they assigned locker partners alphabetically, we luckily were locker partners all 4 years. We saw each other after school just about everyday. The distance between our houses was no longer so far. Mike was an Honors student at Lane - I always knew back in grade school that he was a smart guy, but didn't realize just how smart until he graduated in the top ten students of our senior class. He was on Lane's "It's Academic" team which was on public television. We lost touch after high school, likely from going to different colleges. I heard he passed away in 2007 and I think he was living in Alaska at that time. I was privileged to know him so well at Lane. He was an all around great guy and always treated everyone with respect. I wish he were here with us for this reunion. I am sure he is here in spirit as a Lane warrior, wishing us all the best. God bless him! Kevin Corr Division 823
